FIFA has decided to lift the suspension on the Pakistan Football Federation in exchange for the Normalization Committee regaining control of its offices.

Pakistan was blacklisted by FIFA a year ago. After unauthorised employees took control of Football House in Lahore, the suspension was implemented. FIFA earlier declared that the prohibition on Pakistan’s participation in sports would not be lifted until FIFA’s Normalization Committee regained control of the Football Headquarters.

The government and the PFF had been working together to resurrect the sport in the country. FIFA has now declared that the ban on PFF will be lifted in the coming days, after the transfer of control of the Football Headquarters to the Normalization Committee.

The announcement is a breath of fresh air for footballers and their supporters, since the sport of football in Pakistan has been suffering from mismanagement by involved parties.
