ISLAMAAD- (The Post) – According to disclosures made by the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, over 500,000 Afghan people have traveled abroad using Pakistani passports.

The Interior Secretary disclosed that Afghan residents have been passing themselves off as Pakistanis in nations such as Saudi Arabia and abroad. The Ministry of Interior asserted that the crimes perpetrated by these persons were frequently misattributed to Pakistan.

The Secretary also stated that NADRA retrieved data on over 500,000 Afghan nationals, adding that the government has now digitally integrated data for 180-200 million Pakistani individuals.

The finding highlights persistent worries about passport abuse and the necessity for tighter identity verification mechanisms to prevent foreign crimes from being misattributed to Pakistan.
