JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian women have been granted permission to play football as part of the government’s efforts to encourage sports in the nation.

According to estimates, the Women Soccer League will feature up to 16 women’s football teams. Women’s footballers have been grouped into 16 teams around the country.

This competition will provide an opportunity for Saudi Arabian female footballers to demonstrate their abilities. The Saudi government wants to create high-quality female players to send to international competitions.
