ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) China has once again provided financial comfort to Pakistan by extending the repayment period of a $2 billion loan by one year.

China has decided to postpone the loan repayment, which was originally planned for March 24, in order to bring stability to Pakistan’s economy.

“This extension will assist Pakistan in maintaining its foreign exchange reserves and strengthening financial stability,” the statement said.

China has always been a dependable economic partner of Pakistan, and it has often stepped in to help solve the country’s financial problems.

This time, China’s choice is more significant: it comes as Pakistan faces economic issues, including a balance-of-payments crisis. The nation is also in negotiations with multilateral lenders about financial aid.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the delay would alleviate the demand for fast payment because the government’s primary goal is to restore economic stability.
