GWADAR (The Post) A high-speed passenger bus toppled on the Makran Coastal Highway near Ormara in the Gwadar area on Saturday, killing at least nine people and injuring 36 more.

Aslam Bangulzai of SP Highway Police reports that the bus lost control and overturned close to the Hud Goth area as a result of speeding. The bodies of the dead and injured were transported to Ormara Hospital by rescue personnel and police who raced to the site.

According Pakistani police, the bus was going from Karachi to Jiwani. The majority of the fatalities were traveling to Jiwani for labor employment and came from various parts of Sindh. At the time of the disaster, there were forty-five people aboard the bus.

Seven of the injured are in serious condition, according to the authorities, increasing worries that the death toll may rise.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the chief minister of Balochistan, requested a thorough investigation into the tragedy and expressed his profound sadness over the loss of priceless human life. He also wanted a thorough report on the mishap.

The chief minister gave Deputy Commissioner Gwadar instructions to make sure the injured passengers received the right medical attention. He also gave the order for officials to send ambulances to carry the deceased’s remains back to their homes.
