LAHORE: On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) solemnly admitted former Pakistan great Fazal Mahmood into the Hall of Fame at Gaddafi Stadium.

During his international career, the renowned right-arm bowler grabbed 139 wickets and scored 620 runs and has been admitted into PCB’s Hall of Fame.

Fazal is widely recognised as Pakistan Cricket’s torchbearer; he was a member of the national team that defeated India at their home ground in 1952, owing to his superb bowling performance.

In 1955, he was the first Pakistani cricketer to be named one of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Year.

Prior to the second eliminator of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7, PCB CEO Faisal Hasnain presented the late’s daughter Shaista Mahmood and son Shehzad Mahmood with memorial caps and plaques.
