Pakistan captain Babar Azam said on Friday that his team did not adopt a defensive strategy against Australia in the third and final Test of the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, which took place here.

Following a home series defeat to Australia in the recently finished Benaud-Qadir Trophy, Babar backed his side at a virtual news conference, noting that the green shirts played according to the scenario.

“We didn’t play with a defensive mindset; instead, we played with a good attitude and a desire to score.” “However, back-to-back dismissals changed the game’s dynamics,” he said.

He went on to say, “It’s not correct to assume that the two teams’ mentality were different.”

The 27-year-old captain also endorsed Hasan Ali and the other players, stating he had faith in them all.

“Hasan Ali is a match winner, and I continue to have faith in him.” It’s pointless to demand changes after one lousy series. “These players have already contributed to the team,” he remarked.

Babar then went on to assess his team’s overall performance throughout the just finished home series, claiming that they had played excellent cricket.

“Overall, we played good cricket in this series.” “However, the performance in the Karachi Test was outstanding,” he said.
