LAHORE: During the first ODI against Australia here at Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan’s skipper and top-ranked ODI hitter Babar Azam became the second-fastest batter to reach 4,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Babar, who reached the century in 82 innings, came one shy of Hashim Amla’s record of 81. With his remarkable performance, the 27-year-old has surpassed numerous cricketing legends, including Sir Vivian Richards, who accomplished the feat in 88 innings.

In contrast, India’s top batsman, Virat Kohli, is seventh on the list, having allowed 4,000 runs in 93 innings.
