According to bbc.com, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has left Middlesex to return to Pakistan ahead of the West Indies series.

The 22-year-old left-armer was set to depart Middlesex in early June to represent his country after signing as an overseas player this season. He has, however, departed immediately to recover and spend time with his family before the series begins.

Middlesex’s County Championship victories over Glamorgan, Leicestershire, and Sussex all featured Afridi. With 14 wickets at an average of 25.43, he has helped Middlesex to the top of Division Two.
