LAHORE: Umar Rasheed, the bowling coach at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC), has been assigned as a bowling consultant to help Mohammad Hasnain improve his bowling action.
Hasnain, who was suspended from bowling as a result of his improper bowling motion, will now train with Umar at NHPC to correct his bowling action.
In a statement issued earlier this week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the bowler’s elbow extends beyond 15 degrees, which is prohibited by bowling regulations.
Hasnain was also taken out of the present Pakistan Super League (PSL) season by the PCB in order to alter his bowling motion.
“Hasnain is a valuable asset to Pakistan and one of the few bowlers who routinely hits 145kmph.” As a result, and with his future and Pakistan’s interests in mind, the PCB has determined, on the suggestion of the HBL PSL 2022 Technical Committee, that he will not be permitted to continue participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League,” the PCB declared.
“Instead, he will utilise this time to work with the PCB-appointed bowling consultant to improve his bowling motion so that he may apply for a review and return to international cricket as soon as realistically possible,” the statement added.
